City trail

It is now possible to take a pleasant walk and at the same time, learn about new things in Pardubice thanks to the Vilém of Pernštejn Trail. The total length of this trail with fifteen stops and information boards is 2.5 km and it can be walked in one hour, so even older visitors to the city and parents with small children can manage it. If your feet start hurting along the way, there are plenty of places to sit and perhaps refresh yourselves, for example at Tyršova Park, at Pernštýnsky Square or Republik Square. These are just a couple of the places where you can learn about various interesting facts and thus familiarise yourselves with the centre of Pardubice. More information boards are found for example at the renaissance chateau of Pardubice, the city dominant the Green Gate, the Automatic Mills. Whose building is the work of the famous architect Josefa Gočár, or at the dock for the cruise boat Arnošt.

The trail is barrier free:
The trail leads through the historical centre of the city, where the majority of the surface is made from cobbles. Therefore, it is possible for handicapped persons and wheeled facilities to move about the paths intended for pedestrians.
Moving around inside of the buildings on the trail:
Entry and movement inside of the buildings of individual destinations along the trail is enabled barrier-free with the exception of the Gallery of East Bohemia at the chateau (5 – only the ground floor is accessible), the church of St. Bartholomew (7), the church of the Annunciation of the Virgin Mary (9) and the House at Jonáš (10). The Gallery of East Bohemia at the chateau (5) is equipped with a lift, staircase platform, staircase lift and barrier-free WC. The stairs between Tyršový Park and the church of St. Bartholomew can be avoided by going via Sukovo front or overcome with the help of an assistant.

All of the information boards along the trail provide basic information in Braille letters (number and name of station).
